Patterns and Plasticity in Adult Cortex
Abstract
I will discuss my lab’s recent work on cortical burst firing, plateau potentials, and synaptic plasticity in adult mice. We have observed that burst firing is surprisingly common across cortical lamina and areas of awake cortex, and, in V1 L5 neurons, is often mediated by large plateau potentials (similar to hippocampus). We further found that these cortical plateaus can drive Behavioral Time Scale Plasticity (BTSP)-like processes with distinct features.
