Happy 2025

Dear colleagues,

I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2025, both professionally and personally.

The year 2024, with its many sorrows and joys, was also an opportunity to look back over the past 30 years for our community. If you haven’t already done so, I urge you to watch the replay of our November 14 ceremony.

The main event on which I’d like to focus as we look ahead to the coming year will be communications, and more specifically the Internet, with the launch of new websites for most of our units.

Historically, the website of the “Institut des Neurosciences de Bordeaux”, launched in 2003, has been one of the keys to consolidating our community spirit. This dynamic, lively website – with its weekly newsletter – was managed for 15 years by Yves Deris, and enabled everyone to keep abreast of the already abundant activity in local neuroscience. It also gave a lot of space to research staff, and our archives still contain numerous videos doe at this time.

In 2017, the creation of a common graphic charter for the institutes, with the logos we are all familiar with, was a new milestone for neuroscience in Bordeaux. In the film dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the creation of the IFR, Etienne Hirsch even talks about the Neurocampus brand. If we keep to the original definition of a brand, Neurocampus has indeed become a set of distinctive visible signs, with the range of colors and small graphic signs that make up our visual identity. But it is also, I believe, a state of mind, a “togetherness”, a common banner both literally and figuratively.

In 2025, several units will be launching a new website. Each site will be connected to the Bordeaux Neurocampus site, with shared directory, publications, news and agenda. It does not mean duplication, but complementarity to avoid unnecessary tasks. This will save time for departmental and unit teams, ensure more efficient updating and the certainty of having up-to-date information, and revitalize unit sites.

At a time when our presence on some social networks raises questions, consolidating our presence on the Internet with a collaborative approach seems to me a fine example of what our community can build.

On behalf of the whole team, I wish you once again a very Happy New Year 2025.
