Title

Tissue clearing techniques and their applications in neuroscience

Abstract

Our brain continuously changes its connectivity during development and even during daily life. Our lab has developed tissue clearing techniques (SeeDB and SeeDB2) and multicolor labeling tools (e.g., Tetbow) to facilitate multiplexed analyses of the neuronal circuit anatomy. We also developed a minimally invasive tissue clearing agent, SeeDB-Live, for functional imaging ex vivo and in vivo. We used SeeDB-Live for high-speed voltage imaging ex vivo and in vivo. In this talk, I will introduce these light microscopy techniques as well as our ongoing efforts to understand developmental changes of the connectome in the sensory cortex in mice.
